History

The Landscape Workshop is a family-owned business in its third generation.

LWI was first established in Denver, Colorado in 1979 by founder Jim Pitts.   With his expertise as a Landscape Architect and passion for landscape construction LWI expanded to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1992.

At Jim Pitts’ retirement in the Fall of 2017, the company was taken over by Vice-President Tim McMichael, who started with the company in 1982.  Tim continues to run all company operations and maintains his personal customer relationships while still ensuring that all aspects of the company remains professional and detail oriented.

The Landscape Workshop’s ambition is to be parallel to none and that our services and products are the highest in quality and surpass our client’s expectations.  This is represented by the numerous awards and accolades we have received in our industry.
